It has been a while...

Since what?

Since my last blog entry. Since world war 2. Since I have been home and the list goes on.

Today I am going to write about books. Just a little bit though! I got 2 new books last week. One of them was a present form a close friend of mine and it is design by build. A eye catching book with a lot of great interview form some very important designers from around the world.

The second is called "The Make" it is a book filled with collaborations from all the greatest designers form Victoria, Canada and I think Vancouver as well. The book starts off with some beautiful text layout in my favorite font that goes way back "futura" and then it propels into a world of wonderful imagery. A great coffee table book for everyone who enjoys aret and it goes to a good cause as well. Support you local artist.

In other news Ed Templeton has hit it hard with his new shoes for Emerica. They are casual and corporate all at the same time. So all you boys who refuse to dress up these are perfect for you. They are definetely a half way mark.

Well.

Until next time. Keep reading.

Seymour Street

Hi Everyone.

I have been reading a lot lately and it turns out I have become inspired to write my own book and use it as a portfolio tool.

The idea of calling it Seymour Street came to me because that is where all of my creativity sparked. Although I have become much more driven and talented over the years away from there it still was the height of my creativity. The book takes a journey through places I have lived and describes photos, art and even includes interviews from talented resources. The idea is to inspire young designers to become more driven. It could take years but I have put together a special preview for all of you. I n order to view it you can download a pdf from my website home page here.

Welcome to your new life

Is what I said today when I accepted an offer from a company. I can't hardly wait to satrt my new job and my new life full of no worries mon! So when I told my father he asked, "So, are you still homesick?" I laughed and replied. No way

In other news I finally got my flash working. So now everyone can enjoy my photography and design. Hopefully there will be more to come. I received a new client as well yesterday so it looks like I am getting this business up and running. Exciting!

I would like to plan a ski trip for the winter coming up in the northern hemisphere that is. It shoud be good since I haven't been home in years and I miss my roots a little ( snowboarding) My little bro is so involved in it and I think it is so great. I remember I bought him his first snowboard for christmas years back and a winter jacket. He was stoked!

Well I am off now. Just some more random blabber.

Haven't seen any new design lately. Yet there is one person who continues to inspire me even though he has passed. A man by the name of Paul Rand August 15, 1916 - November 26, 1996. You can read more on him here.

Friends from far away.

Today I went skateboarding for the first time in a while. It feels so good and it is honestly the best way to transport yourself around. It brought back a lot of memories of Vancouver. When I lived there I skated everywhere.

I talked to a close friend last night in Vancouver and it made me miss home so much but, I think I may find it difficult to move home again after living in paradise. My new life here has just started but it is hard to get over those hard feelings of missing your best friends.
But when you talk to them it seems like you never left.

Vancouver is honestly the best city I have ever lived in. The opportunity is great and the scenery is so beautiful and I have seen allot of cities. It seems like everyone I know has relocated there. I also find it strange how it is never cold here so then there is never a season to look forward to. I guess anyone would tell me to shut it for saying that though! But seriously though when you grow up in it is seems so normal.

Not to mention the summers are totally rockin'. I wonder if i will ever make it home so that these homesick pains will go away.

So now I will give a shout out to all of my friends back home.
Have a look at all my photos from around the world here

More to come

This is my first blog entry of many to come. I would like to invite you all to my site and I hope that a lot will come of this.

This just gives me some extra space to get things down a bit more. So I will start here by saying that the design firm Igloo which is an Australian company is doing the most beautiful design and I find it very inspiring. Please feel free to have a look. I have posted their link on my webpage and also on this blog page and be sure to check out their new book which is beautifully packaged and is called Incubator. Not to mention the Incubator site which is outstanding.

If anyone can think of anything they would like to add that is as great I always love to see new works. I will be working on this blog design soon to make it a bit more interesting.

Until then...
